Our name comes from Amelia Bloomer, a 19th-century writer and activist who helped popularize bloomers, not just as clothing, but as a statement. 

At a time when restrictive norms limited who people could be and whom they could become, Amelia Bloomer used her voice to challenge those expectations. Bloomers represented comfort, freedom, and the courage to choose what worked for you. 

The spirit is at the heart of Bloomers today. We believe empowerment looks different for everyone. It's found in accessibility and inclusion. In confidence and self-expression. In honoring differences. Like Amelia Bloomer, who believed people flourish when barriers-social, physical, emotional- are removed.
